Bible Texts: Pro.14:33-34, Jn.5:17, Is.42:6, Matt.6:33, Gen.12:2, Gen.17:1-2, Ps.24:1-2, Matt.5:14-16
Wisdom is enshrined in an understanding heart; wisdom is not found among fools. Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people (Pro.14:33-34) NLT
Let me begin today’s teaching by saying that there is no great future for an unrighteous husbandman, no matter his age, class, position and wealth, until he comes to Jesus Christ and walks in righteousness.
As the head of your family, you must understand that sin does not offer you any good, rather, it leads to spiritual and physical death here on earth and hereafter. This is why you must never play in and around the arena of sin, no matter how attractive it may appear.
As a symbol of Jesus Christ in the family fold, your life is worth more than the gains of this world. God’s will for you is to lead your wife and children unto righteousness (Matt.5:14-16). If what you want to think about, say or do does not align with the Word of God and you do it, it is sin (1Jn.5:17).
But why do I need to walk righteously?
It gives you access to the throne of grace to have conversations with God, Who guides you on the steps to take to overcome the challenges confronting you in any area of your life. In Psalms Chapter 24 and verse 3, the Scripture says that for you to ascend unto the hills where God lives, you must live righteously. This means that living a holy life pleases God and empowers your prayers to be answered, thereby giving you victory over satanic attacks. Secondly, it makes you bold as a lion and guarantees your liberty.
One major consequence of living a righteous life is that God will bless you. They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their creator (Ps.24:5) NLT.
God wants to bless you so you can be a blessing to your wife, your children and others (Gen12:2, Gen.17:1-2). Sin is a spiritual barrier. You must resist satan, who is the author of sin, steadfastly by the weapon of the blood of Jesus. Righteousness promotes. Make it count in your life.
Hallelujah!
