A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken (Pro.15:13)
Today’s teaching is to encourage every husbandman going through any form of challenges not to give up on God, His Word and themselves because God has great plans for them (Jer.29:11). I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, you will be strengthened in your spirit by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
An important area of the husbandman’s life that the devil attacks is his spirit man. The devil wants the husbandman to be broken and hopeless so he can achieve his mission, which is to kill, to steal and to destroy (Jn.10:10).
There is no doubt that challenges will show up when and where you do not expect, and other times you expect them. Regardless of the situation or challenges you are in right now, rejoice in the Lord and in His promises; make a cheerful countenance (Hab.3:17).
But why should I rejoice in the Lord and not allow sorrow of the heart?
It is because a merry heart is like medicine.
A merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones (Pro.17:22)
The moment you allow your spirit to be broken, it dries up your inner strength and denies you access to draw from the hope in the Word of God.
It also affects your mental, emotional and physical well-being that may lead to sickness and ultimately death.
It may be true that you are not where you want to be or attain the level you had planned when this year began, but let this Word of God be your stay.
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fall and the fields shall yield no meat………yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength……(Hab.3:17-19).
Hallelujah!
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from the spirit of depression and discouragement.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill my heart with joy, hope and strength.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, mend my broken heart and heal my body and mind.
FAITH CONFESSION
I am hopeful of a better tomorrow in Christ because He is my strength and the joy of my life as a good and godly husbandman in Jesus Name. Amen.
PRAYER OF SALVATION/REDEDICATION
Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
