Today, by the help of the Person of the Holy Spirit, let us consider from the word of God the pattern God wants the husbandman to live and show to his wife and children. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ that you shall be an example of good and godly pattern to your wife and children. Amen.
Every husbandman is a leading light in his home and to his wife and children. And if you must make the most of your leadership as the husbandman, you must not only set good and godly examples for our wife and children to follow, you must be the example for them see. The days of “do what I say and not what I do” is over. If you are a bad example to your wife and children by your conduct and action, you must make a decision today to change your ways and commit to becoming a pattern of good works.
In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works, in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned, that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you (Tit.1:7-8)
The Scripture above talks about a pattern of good works and require you to show yourself as good and godly husbandman by your good works. There is a way God wants you to conduct yourself and relate with your wife and children. There is a way God wants you to lead yourself, your wife and children. There is a way God wants you to live your life because you are His ambassador in your home and in the lives of wife and children, who are His treasures. You must be aware of this and be conscious of the truth that you are a Christ and the perfect image of the good and godly husbandman (Matt.5:14-16).
Now what are the areas God wants me to show a pattern of good works to the end that I live and continue to live as the good and godly husbandman?
In doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech……(Tit.1:7b)
God wants you to show a pattern of holiness and purity in all that you do. God wants you to be truthful and faithful. God wants your words towards your wife and children to be full of grace and seasoned with graceful words. God doesn’t want you to abuse and dishonour your wife and children. Living an unfaithful life and deceitfulness is not good and godly works.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, forgive me for setting a pattern of unrighteous and ungodly works in my life and for my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to set and live a pattern of good works in my life and for my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to continue to set good and godly pattern by Your word as the man, husband and father.
FAITH CONFESSION
I set a pattern of good and godly works from the Word of God for my life and for my wife and children because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
