Today’s teaching is to encourage the husbandman reading the devotional to hold onto the promises of God for his life as the man, husband and father, in view of the challenges he may be having with his wife and his children.
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being FULLY PERSUADED that what he had promised he was able to perform (Rom.4:19-21)
The Word of God says that Abraham was persuaded that what God had promised He was able to perform, regardless of the negative circumstances of his body and that of his wife. And God gave them a son, Isaac. That is the attitude God wants you to have as you lead your life, and the lives of your wife and your children.
It doesn’t matter what challenges you may have with your wife or your children; God has promised you a glorious home and a joyful relationship. He did not bring you into the lives of your wife and your children to hurt you but to make you a blessing and be blessed. So, you must never give up on yourself, on your wife, on your children and your home. You must be fully persuaded that what God has said about them in His Word is true, and He will perform it, regardless of what is happening with and around them.
Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, lived joyfully with the twelve disciples despite each person manifesting different character traits. He did not give up on them nor abandon them. That is the mindset God wants you to have.
Therefore, you must let your faith come alive to trust God to help you become the combination of the good and godly man, husband and father. You must be persuaded that God’s promises are true and that God cannot lie. Hold on to what God has said in His word and let it inspire faith in your heart to love your wife as Christ has loved the church and gave Himself, and to train and nurture your children in the way and admonition of the Lord. Don’t walk away from your home. Don’t walk away from your wife. Don’t walk away from your children. Hold on to the promises of God.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every satanic hold of discouragement, hopelessness, fear and doubt.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, stir up a higher dimension of faith in my life.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from every form of deceitfulness.
FAITH CONFESSION
I hold onto the word of God for my life as the man, husband and father and I am persuaded to engage the word as I walk the path to becoming the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
