YOU ARE A RANSOM FOR THEM

Bible Texts: Matt.20:26-29, Rom.8:17, Jn.10:15, 1Cor.2:16, 2Cor.5:20, Jn.3:16, Gal.4:19, Eph.5:25, Jn.3:30, Gen.22:18, Jn.10:1-2, 2Tim.2:6

As the husbandman, I want you to know that you are a ransom for your wife and your children, and a minister to them, in the same way Jesus Christ, the perfect example of the good and godly husbandman, is to you.

Now consider this Scripture.

But it shall not be so among you, but whosoever will be great among you, let him be you minister. And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. Even so as the Son of man came not be ministered unto, BUT TO MINISTER, AND TO GIVE HIS LIFE A RANSOM FOR MANY (Matt.20:26-28)

Jesus Christ, speaking, said He came to minister and to give His life as a ransom for many. And as it is written, “as my Father has sent me, so sent I you”. So, God has sent you to minister to and be a ransom for your wife and children, just as He was and continues to be for the world.

Ministering to your wife and your children means sacrificing your convenience for them so that they become all that God has created them to be. It means standing in the gap in prayer and intercession for them, even when you seem tired. It means giving your only car to your wife to make movement convenient for her and the children while you take public transport. It means allowing them to have the best part of the meal even if you must go hungry for that day.

You must always give the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being of your wife and your children first place in your life.

God has given you a ransom, Jesus Christ. He gave you His best. God wants you to give your best to your wife and your children. That is the nature of the good and godly husbandman.

Hallelujah!

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to be a committed minister and a worthy ransom for my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me not be weary of living a sacrificial life for the sakes of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, help my wife and children to appreciate my sacrifices and let them respond positively.

FAITH CONFESSION

I give up my convenience as a ransom for the fulfillment of the God’s perfect will for my life and for my wife and children because that is what makes me a worthy minister and as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
