WHO ROCKED YOUR BOAT?

The devil has come but to steal, to kill and to destroy (Jn.10:10)

Today’s teaching begins with a question: Who rocked your boat? Your boat in this circumstance is your family, and in it are your wife and your children, with you as the captain. The answer to the question is found in Ephesians chapter 2.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience (Eph.2:2)

The person who rocked your boat is not your wife and not your children. The force that rocked and is causing the raging storm is the prince of the power of the air: satan, sin, and the world. So, the misbehavior and disobedience of your wife or the rebellious attitude of your children is being influenced by the unseen forces of the devil. The tension, lack of peace, and inability to enjoy the blessings of leading your life and the lives of your wife and your children are instigated by the devil and his agents.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph.6:12)

As the husbandman, you must understand that you are not fighting flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Your wife is not your enemy, nor are your children. Take your attention from them and deal with the enemy influencing them.

But how do I stand against these forces of darkness rocking my boat?

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Eph.6:10-11)

Begin be renewing your personal relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ, by repenting of your sins, asking Him to forgive you and inviting Him into your life (Jn.3:3-7, 2Cor.5:17). Continue studying the word of God to discover His perfect plans and purposes for your life, your wife and your children (2Tim.2:15). Engage the Word of God as your weapon of warfare as you pray for yourself and intercede for them (Gal.4:19). Engage the power of the violence of faith in God and His Word (Heb.11:2, Rom.4:17-21). Keep declaring the promises of God concerning your life, wife and children (Rom.10:10). Keep pleading the blood of Jesus Christ over your life, your wife and your children (Heb.12:24, Rev.12:11).

The devil, sin and the world rocked your boat. Contend with them, not your wife and children.

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I take authority and cast out the influence of satan, sin and the world in my life and in the lives of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I exercise the power in Jesus Christ over every work of ungodliness in my life and in the lives of my wife and children.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, I input the spirit of righteousness and godliness into my life and in the lives of my wife and children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I am the husbandman of power and authority, and I exercise God’s power to overcome the influences of satan, sin and the world working disobedience in the lives of my wife and children; Now, I am bringing them into the fullness of God’s perfect will for them because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
