ORDER YOUR HOME RIGHTLY

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: 1Cor.11:30-34

More Scriptures: 2 Cor.7:1, Col.1:19, Heb.11:3

God wants to bless you as a husband and the head of your family. God wants to make you a successful leader; leading your wife and children in the way of the Lord. God wants to prosper your office as the head of the family. But He wants you to put your house in order before He releases His blessings. Remember the story of Prophet Elijah and the 400 Baal priests. They wanted to test who was the real god. Was it the god of Baal or the God of Israel? It was after Prophet Elijah set the altar in order that the fire came down from heaven and consumed the sacrifice and established that the God of Israel is the true God. As the head of your family, order is a must goal you must set in place in your family government. Where there is no order, there will be chaos. And where there is chaos, there will not be progress. You must appreciate your position in your family-you are their head, the spiritual leader and kingdom administrator and governor, king and lord.

So, the success or failure of your family government depends on how much order you have put in place at home. For instance, it is disorderly when you stir up strife and bitterness in the hearts of your children against their mother or vice versa. It is disorderliness when your children are on a free fall, doing things without limitation and control. Any driver who drives his car without order and control-having an effective breaking system and acceleration device will crash with the passengers on board. However, for you to set your house in order, you must set your life in order. In II Cor.7:1, the Scripture talks about two levels of filthiness-inward and outward. And Jesus speaking said that we must first remove the speck in our eyes before we start talking about removing the speck in the other person’s eyes. Secondly, you must walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing (Col.1:19). You must also engage your wife in healthy discussion in developing the ground rules, using the Bible as the foundation (Jn.5:39). Thirdly, you must engage the weapon of praise, prayer and fasting (Mk.9:29). And finally, you must walk in faith, because without faith it is impossible for you to please God (Heb.11:1-6)

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, by Your Spirit, help me to set my house in order.
  • Father, by Your Spirit, help me to lead my wife and children rightly.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to believe all things.

FAITH CONFESSION

I set my family fold in the order of God because I am determined to become a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
