HOW TO DELIVER ON YOUR AUTHORITY (3)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Ps.89:5-7

More Scriptures: Eph.5:25, Matt.7:24, Eph.6:4

Many husbandmen hear the word of God but they do not practice what the word says. And for this act of disobedience of not doing what the word of God says, many husbands are struggling to lead their sheep in the way of the Lord. As a result and sadly so, many more are not blessed as the man, husband and father. The word of God teaches on the importance of doing the word of God. Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of the good and godly shepherd has this to say to you and me. He that heareth my saying and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man (Matt.7:24). So doing what God commands you to do makes you a wise shepherd and to make the most of your leadership in your home, you need a high dose of the wisdom of God.

So, let us consider some of the commandments that God expects you to hear and do because even Jesus Christ was both a hearer and a doer (Acts 1:1). Husbands love thy wife as Christ has loved the church. (Eph.5:25). I know that you must have heard this instruction from God in church meetings or seminars. But how much of it have you practiced as the husband to your wife. The word of God didn’t give condition under which you have to love your wife. The Scriptures simply said, love her. So, whether she is educated or not, ugly or beautiful, tall or short, black or blue, disobedient or respectful, no matter her weakness and shortcoming, just love her. And how would you love? You love her just the same way Jesus Christ who represents the true image of the perfect shepherd loves the church. He forgave and still forgives. He extends mercy to us after several failures. He has our backs covered even when we offend Him. He speaks to us gently through the Person of the Holy Spirit, even when we seem not agree with Him. He prompts us to have faith in Him even when we doubt every of His action. He extends kindness to us even when we intentionally disobey Him. He is patient with us in our failures even when we may have tried to improve. (1Cor.13:4-7). That is the real deal. You don’t just love your wife by words, you act it because love not expressed can be doubted.

Also, God says this in His word. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger but bring them up in the way and admonition of the Lord (Eph.6:4). Another Scripture is in Genesis chapter 18 and verse 19. For I know Abraham, that he will command his children and his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him (Gen.18:19).  And in 1st Timothy chapter three (3) and verses three (3) to six (6), the word of God says that the shepherd who cannot take care of his household is not fit to take care of the church.
