MAKE A GREAT FEAST (2)

Spread the love

Main Scriptures: Gen.20:17

More Scriptures: Lk.15:32, Jas.5:13, Rev.11:10

And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? For I have born him a son in his old age. And the child grew, and was weaned and Abraham made a great feast for the same day that Isaac was weaned (Gen.21:6-8).

After waiting for twenty-five (25) years, Abraham and his wife were blessed with Isaac. The day Isaac was weaned his father made a great feast for him. The significance of this feast is both spiritual and natural. The Scripture says that there is joy in heaven over one sinner who is saved. Every time you make a great feast for your children, you are sowing the spiritual virtue of appreciation into their lives and they will also extend appreciations to others. On the natural side, they are challenged to continue to strive for excellence in everything that they do. This is the path that distinguishes them in life. It is a virtue that speaks loudest even unto posterity. Make celebrations part of your family agenda and let it become the culture that your sheep will grow with.

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad, for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again, and lost and is found (Lk.15:32).

As a father, you must understand that your children need your consistent confirmation and affirmation in their lives. You must affirm their progress and improvements because that is one of the principal ways to building their self-esteem and confidence. You are not defined as a father because your children bear your name. Rather, you are qualified as a father because of the quality of influence you have exerted on your children.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, fill me with divine wisdom on how to guide my children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a positive influence in the lives of my children.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a diligent and faithful father to my children.

FAITH CONFESSION

I have the mind of God and I am filled with divine wisdom to influence my children for God and the good of humanity because that is my godly heritage as a good and godly father in Jesus Name. Amen.
