And not holding fast to the head (of the body of Christ), from whom the entire body, supplied and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the growth (that can come only) from God (Col.2:19) Amplified.
If you are familiar with basic biology, we understand that the roots supply the nutrients that the leaves need to remain fresh and healthy. And it is also true that leadership provides the momentum that the followers need. That is why, the word of God tells us this in Ps.133:2. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes (Ps.133:2). As the head of the family, you must accept that everything rises and falls on leadership. Whatever the husbandman tolerates, his sheep will celebrate (Acts 5:1-6).
As the good and godly husbandman, you must appreciate who you are, what you are and what you can do to your wife and children through the power of Christ at work in you. God is the Anointing and you are the channel through which His power flows because you are the shepherd over His sheep. Know ye that the LORD he is God. It is he that hath made is and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture (Ps.100:3). You are leading your wife and children. You are the good and godly shepherd. You have the responsibility to become the channel that provides the support, direction, empowerment, motivation and inspiration that your wife and children need. You provide the road map using the word of God as your compass.
No one cometh to my Father except by me (Jn.6:44). Jesus Christ is the channel through which we receive from our heavenly Father. When we ask anything in His name according to the will of the Father, He answers us. God has positioned you to be the head in your sheepfold. God designed it that way. Do not allow socialization, tradition and culture destroy your heritage as the anointed of the Lord in your sheepfold.
SPIRITUAL EXERCISE
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make me a leading light to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, let Your anointing in my life flow to my wife and children.
- Father, in the Name of Jesus, make my life attractive to my wife and children.
FAITH CONFESSION
I exercise myself in the truth of God’s word, to pour out His grace in my life on my wife and children for their upliftment because I am the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
