MADE IN HIS IMAGE TO BEAR FRUITS

Spread the love

Bible Texts:  Gen.1:28, 1Tim. 3:1, Acts 20:28, Phil. 1:1, Eph. 4:12, Matt.5:14, Rom.6:1, Jos.24:15

Let us make man in our image and after our likeness….. (Gen.1:26-28).

Have you ever wondered why God made you the head of your sheepfold? Are you aware that you are like a product from the manufacturer’s factory to accomplish definite purposes? Now, you always know a product by the things it does and the functions it performs as intended by the manufacturer, whether positive or negative. In the same manner, every godly husbandman is a product, manufactured by God. And as a product created by God, he is to bear fruits. According to the word of God, Jesus said, by thy fruits ye shall know them. God made you to become the husbandman to bear good and godly fruits.

In Gen.1:26-28, the Bible says let us make man in our own image and likeness… And thereafter God said to this man, be fruitful and multiply (Gen.1:28). God made you and He brought you into the office of the husbandhood so that you can become His reflection to your wife and children and the world at large. But for your wife, children and others to see who you really are as the good and godly shepherd, you must exhibit certain godly nature first to God, your wife and then your children. You don’t have to tell your wife and children that you are the head of the family. Your character should be loud enough for all of them to see. You don’t have to tell outsiders that you are the head of your family. Your fruits should demonstrate it.

But what are the fruits that God wants you to bear?

The answer is found in 1Timothy chapter 3 and verses 1 to 5. You must be blameless. You must be the husband of one wife, no concubine, girlfriends or mistress. You must be vigilant to protect your wife, children and marriage. You must be hospitable and be of good behavior. You must be a good teacher to your wife and children. You must not be giving to wine or greed or fighting. You must have good rule of your own house and children. You must be patient and sober (1Tim.3:1-5). These are the fruits you bear as the good and godly husbandman.

To become the good and godly husbandman, you must be committed to the responsibilities and be diligent at it. Your true value is in the quality of fruits you bear. Your words, conduct and actions remain the sum total of who you are as the godly shepherd. And that is what counts for you.

FAITH CONFESSION

I choose to demonstrate and bear good and godly fruits for my wife, children and others around me to enjoy because that what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
