THE SEVEN SPIRITS OF THE HUSBANDMAN (6)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Mk.8:1-3, 2Tim.2:15, Jn.10:12-14, Jos.1:6, Ezk.34:2, Ex.2:17, Jn.5:39, Ps.139:14, Eph.6:4, Is.61:9, Eph.5:25, 1Tim.3:1-6, Gen.18:19, Gen.2:14, Ps.1:1-3

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, he is none of his (Rom.8:9).

Another Spirit of Jesus Christ, the good and godly husbandman you have and must manifest as you lead yourself, wife and children is THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE. The knowledge of who you are in Christ and knowing the perfect will and plans of God for your wife and children.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine(Jn.10:14) KJV

The rendition of this passage in the Amplified version says,

I am the good shepherd, and I know and recognize my own, and my own know and recognize me (Jn.10:14) AMP

Did you realize that you are the shepherd as the husbandman? Have you considered the place of the shepherd in the lives of the sheep and the sheepfold? Have you evaluated the demands of the good and godly shepherd? These are important questions you must answer as the husbandman in order for you to make the most of your leadership in leading yourself, wife and children.

The Scriptures in John Gospel chapter 10 and verse 14 tells us the knowledge the good Shepherd had about His sheep. Every good shepherd knows his sheep not as a group, but as individuals. He deals with each sheep in his fold uniquely, and in return his sheep know and recognize him.

As the husbandman, you must have the knowledge of who you are as the man of the family (Gen.2:14), the husband to your wife (Eph.5:25) and a father to your children (Eph.6:4). You must also know what God has called you to do as the man, husband and father (Gen.18:19, 1Tim.3:1-7). You must also know who God says your wife and children are (Ps.139:14).

1Peter chapter 3 and Isaiah chapter 61 give insight into your wife and children.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto thy wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, you’re your prayers be not hindered (1Pet.3:7)

And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles and their offspring among the people, all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed (Is.61:9)

Knowing the perfect will of God for your wife and children is what motivates you to put your best foot forward as the godly husbandman. And this is what makes your wife and children to recognize, acknowledge and respect you as their man, husband and father.

Having the knowledge of your covenant responsibilities as the husbandman empowers you to remain with your wife and children, regardless of the challenges (Mk.8:1-2). In Mark Gospel chapter 8 and verses 1 and 2, Jesus was faced with the problem of feeding His followers after they had stayed with Him for many days. He did not drive them away or pretend not to understand what they were going through. He fed them. You have the same spirit in you. God did not send you to your wife and children as a hireling, who flees when he sees the wolf coming. Your wife and children are precious seeds from the Lord. They have not been given to you so that the enemy may devour them. God has given them to you to protect.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2Tim.2:15).

Knowledge is not only powerful it also influences. Search the word of God to know and apply yourself to what you know from Scriptures and watch how greatly your impact will be on your life, wife, children and in the marketplace of life.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, deliver me from foolishness and ignorance.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, give me a teachable spirit to keep searching the word.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me with the spirit of knowledge and make me to apply myself to learning.

FAITH CONFESSION

I walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus; I search and study the word of God to know so that I can apply myself to knowledge, understanding and wisdom in leading myself, wife and children as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
