BE SPIRITUAL!!!

Bible Texts: Gen.1:26-28, Gen.3:1-5, Rom.8:5-6, 2Cor.5:17, Rom.6:1, Ps.24:1, Gal.6:8, 1Cor.2:14, Jn.3:6, Jn.4:24

We give God praise for seeing us through the first half of the year and for bringing us into the second half. To God alone we give all the glory.

For the husbandman, being spiritual is the cure for frustration, depression, and discouragement. Spirituality is profitable; it makes you different from the world and empowers you to walk in the newness of life in Christ. That is the life you must live, beginning today and continuing throughout the rest of your journey, as you lead your life, your wife, and your children.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be CARNALLY minded is death, but to be SPIRITUALLY minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So, then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Rom.8:5-8)

As the husbandman, you need to take your spiritual life very seriously by heeding what God says and submitting to the leading of the Person of the Holy Spirit. But if you are carnal, it will lead to loss of your family heritage, lack of inner peace, and damnation in eternity.

But what does it mean to be spiritually minded and to walk in the newness of life?

To be spiritually minded means that your life, conduct, actions, and reactions are always guided by the Word of God and not by the systems, culture, or rudiments of the world. Your decisions and actions towards your wife and your children are always influenced and determined by what the Bible says. You always allow the Word of God to take first place over and above your feelings, your emotions, the suggestions of man, or the position of your culture and society.  

The first step to being spiritually minded and walking in the newness of life in Christ and pleasing God in all things is new birth; that is, you must be born again. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour, do it now. Go to Jesus, ask for forgiveness, and invite Him into your life to be your Lord and personal Saviour.

As the husbandman, to be spiritually minded is life and peace. That is the life God wants for you because it makes you indeed the good and godly man, husband, and father.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to live by Your Spirit and walk in the newness of life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, destroy every form of carnality in my life.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, restore to me the joy of my salvation.

 FAITH CONFESSION

I give myself to the spiritual demands of prayer, word study, fasting, and fellowship with God, because that is what helps me to walk in the newness of life in Christ and empowers me to be spiritually minded as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
