RENEWING YOUR MIND, DOING GOD’S PERFECT WILL (1)

Spread the love

Bible Texts: Rom.12:1-3, Gen.1:26-28, Eph.5:25, Ps.92:1-2, 1Cor.13:4-7, Rom.5:5, Philp.4:8, Eph.6:4, 1Pet.5:8, Eph.6:6, Rom.12:21

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good and perfect will of God (Rom.12:1-3)

The Word of God says that your transformation into the good and godly husbandman begins with the renewing of your mind, and your ability to keep doing the perfect will of God for your life as the man, husband, and father rests on keeping your mind renewed by the Word of God. Praise God!

Your life will not take a positive shape until the thoughts of your mind change positively. Your life cannot be transformed greatly until your mindset is greatly transformed. Your life as the husbandman is summed up in the quality of your mind. All forms of ungodliness like bitterness, unforgiveness, adultery, malice, hatred, weakness, laziness, lack of compassion, bad will, and mistrust are issues of the heart (Gal.5:20-22). And all forms of goodness and godliness, such as kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, diligence, extending a helping hand, goodwill, and so much more, are issues of the mind (1Cor.13:4-8).

As the good and godly husbandman, you must understand that your mind is powerful. It gives birth to your actions, words, and conduct. It is for this reason that the battle of the mind is the greatest fight you will encounter on your journey to becoming the good shepherd. If you can win the war in your mind by renewing your mind by the Word of God, you have won the battle on the outside. Constantly renewing your mind by the Word of God helps you be like Christ to your wife and children, at home and in the marketplace, every day.

But why must I renew my mind with the Word of God, and how does it impact my life as the husbandman?

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to renew my thoughts by Your Word and make them conform to Your will.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to overcome evil with good.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, and by Your word make my life to count positively as the good and godly man, husband and father.

FAITH CONFESSION

I take captive my thoughts and bring them under the authority of the will and plan of God by renewing them by the Word of God, because that is what makes me the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.
