Bible Texts: Job 31:1-7, Matt.6:22, Jas.1:7, Jer.11:12, Rom.12: 21, Gen.14:22-23, Pro.1:10, Is.3:10, Philp.4:8, 1Tim.6:11
I will wait on God until my change comes (Job 14:14)
The Word of God tells us that Job, a husbandman like you and I, remained steadfast in his walk with God, regardless of the negative circumstances or pressure in his life. In fact, at some point, when he was advised to curse God and die, he refused but declared that he would wait upon God until his change comes. This act of faithfulness and consistency pleased God. That is what God wants from you.
God wants you to be stable and steadfast in your godly conduct both at home and in the marketplace (Jas.1:6-7). God doesn’t want you to wear the garment of a good and godly husbandman, but He wants you to live the life.
It is true that challenges would come that will test your stance for goodness and godliness. But in these challenges, disappointments, or pressure, God still wants you to be stable, unmovable, and uncompromising in your goodness and godliness. (Jas.1:6-7).
As the husbandman, what do I do to be steadfast in my walk with God so I always reflect Christ’s true nature to my wife, my children, and in the marketplace?
You must always have the future in view and be conscious of eternity, because there is life after here (Jer.1:11-12).
You must always anchor your life on Christ by walking with the Person of the Holy Spirit to empower you to continue to bring your thoughts, will, emotions and body under subjection to the Word of God (1Cor.9:27, Rom.12:2,21).
The Word of God must always be your final authority on all matters, however discomforting it may be for you or anyone.
Becoming the good and godly man, husband and father is the perfect will of God for you. You must maintain steadfastness and focus in living out the Word of God. That is what makes you the good and godly husbandman.
Hallelujah!
