Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. Casting all your cares upon him for he careth for you (1Pet.5:6-7).

I believe that this Scripture is for a husband reading this devotional today, and the Spirit of God intends that this truth shall rekindle hope that all is not lost, after all. That is there is light at the end of the tunnel. It doesn’t matter what satan and the world throws at you, God cares for you and is ever ready to carry your burdens for you. Perhaps, as a husband, you seem to be burdened with so much pressure at the home front. It appears you are at cross roads in your life. May be you are even contemplating suicide as an option to end the hopelessness and frustration you are going through. The good news is that God cares for you. He is waiting for you to cast all and not some of your burdens upon Him. God knows that the demands of becoming a good and godly husband is great. He knows that it is a big challenge. He understands that satan will continue to throw in the spanners into your paths just to discourage you. But you must never give up. You must never allow him to have the last laugh.

God knows that the office of the husbandman requires that you function at peak performance as a man, a husband and a father. So, He is around to be the stop gap for you. Never you think that you are alone. Don’t let the circumstances or the pressure take your attention from God and focus on man. God loves you so much that He is willing and prepared to handle your cares. Are you worried that you are unable to care for the financial, emotional, material, spiritual, physical needs of your wife and children? Then switch to the God of all flesh. God is not an option, He is the OPTION. But for you to cast your burden upon Him, you must learn to trust Him.

  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, teach me how to lay all my cares at Your feet.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, help me not to take back the cares that I have laid at Your feet.
  • Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to trust You in all things and at all times.

At your feet oh Lord, I lay all my cares and worries because I know that You care for me as a good and godly husband in Jesus Name. Amen.
