THE POWER OF THE LOVE OF CHRIST

Bible Texts: Rom.5:5, Eph.5:25, Jn.3:16, Heb.12:2, Philp.2:13, Gal.4:19, Lk.18:1, Mk.9:29, Col.3:19, Eph.6:4

Today, I want to teach on the power of the love of Christ and how it can empower the husbandman to love his wife as Christ has loved the church, to lead his children in the way and admonition of the Lord, and to live like the good and godly man, husband and father at home and in the marketplace.

And hope maketh not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us (Rom.5:5)

Until the husbandman has the love of Jesus Christ planted firmly in his heart, it will be difficult for him to live the life that God wants him to live as the good and godly man, husband and father.

Now, what is the love of Christ and how powerful is this love that empowers the husbandman to be like Jesus Christ?

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things (1Cor.13:4-7)

When you have the love of Christ firmly planted in your heart, you will manifest the attributes of kindness, humility, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion. The love of Christ will always motivate you to seek the good of others over and above your own. It purifies your heart from thinking evil of others. It empowers you to have empathy and sympathy towards others when they fail and fall into iniquity. It builds your inner man to persevere and endure the weaknesses of others. It strengthens your commitment to hope for the best and believe only in good outcomes for others.

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith…(Heb.12:2)

As the husbandman, Jesus Christ is your example of the good and godly husbandman. Jesus Christ is love. The more you give attention to and invest your time in the study of the Word of God, the more you discover how Jesus Christ loved humanity and the quicker your life reflects His nature as the good and godly man, husband, and father to your wife and children, and in the marketplace.

Jesus Christ is the true love. You can become like Him to your wife, children, and in the marketplace.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISE

• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower Your love to be shed abroad in my heart by Your Word and Spirit.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to demonstrate Your love to my wife and children as You would.
• Father, in the Name of Jesus, empower me to remain in Your word and help me to obey Your instructions for me as the husbandman

FAITH CONFESSION

The love of Jesus Christ is firmly rooted in my heart, and by the empowerment of the Person of the Holy Ghost, I manifest the fullness of Christ’s love to my wife and children and in the marketplace because God has ordained me to live as the good and godly husbandman in Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer of Salvation/Rededication

Now that you have read the devotional, you need to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ (1Tim.2:4). It is the first step in your walk of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Please, pray this prayer of salvation in faith.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today just as I am. I acknowledge that I have fallen short of Your glory. I ask for Your forgiveness of my sins today. I invite You into my life to be my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving my life.
