Husband Man Devotional Posts

You are ordained by God to serve your wife and children. And this can be measured by the value and quality of your input to your flocks. In Jn.13:4-8, Jesus Christ, served His flocks by washing their feet. How well have you served your wife and children? How committed are you to the well being of your flocks-spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically? In Eph.5, the Scriptures positioned you in the same platform with Jesus Christ when it says

And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old, if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And NO MAN PUTTETH NEW WINE INTO OLD BOTTLES else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. BUT NEW WINE MUST BE PUT INTO NEW BOTTLES AND BOTH ARE PRESERVED.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, and the end of that mirth is heaviness Pro.14:12. That is the Scripture reading for today’s devotional. Any way that doesn’t agree with the word of God will ultimately lead to death. As the head of the family, it is very #InTunewithGod important for you to understand that God has provided a way for you- the way to handle the affairs of your home, your relationship with your wife and children and the world around you. When as the head of the family, you do not know the way to go in the governance of your family, you will experience hardness, uneasiness and pain. There are so many options and suggestions on how to run your home as the leader, which are calling for your attention. Some of them may come from your parents, friends and colleagues and relations. Some may make sense others may not. But what is important for you as the leader of your home is to compare the opinions with the standards set by God.

if any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of riot or unruly. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God, not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre. But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate, holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. Yesterday, the Person of the Holy Spirit taught us what it takes to be a godly husband. Today let us conclude on it. A godly husband does not give himself to drinking alcohol. If the Word of God says that you must not give yourself to alcohol, it is uncontestable. It is ungodly for you to be drinking beer, alcoholic wine either at the bar, at home or in any place. A godly husband does not fight either physically or emotionally. There are husbands who have never beaten their wives physically but have done worse emotionally

Just when I concluded yesterday’s devotional with my helper and teacher, the Holy Spirit, the topic for today was dropped in my spirit by the Holy Ghost. Who is a Godly husband? As simple as this question appears, many husbands do noteven know who they are. Some husbands do not know the demands of a godly leader. And this ignorance has been responsible for the high incidences of marriage and relationship breakdown between husbands and their wives and children. This unhealthy relationship between the husband and his wife and children is not the will of
God for the position of the husbandhood.

Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God. Mk.1:14. As the head of the family, it is important for you to appreciate the place of the kingdom of God in your family. Many husbands, who are in ministry or in one form of service in the kingdom of God, are not preaching the kingdom of God. Instead, they are preaching their personality, wealth, fame and fortune.
